Taiwan Scott owns and operates the Beautiful Island Square food truck court, where this Hilton Head Poetry Trail site #21 is located. In 2023, the Post and Courier named him one of twelve black leaders to know in South Carolina. He has been a central figure in several legal cases backed by the Legal Defense Fund and the ACLU to defend heirs’ property rights and fair political district mapping in the Lowcountry.
